Access Grid Node (AGN) Room, Metallurgy and Materials Building

The MeSC's very own Access Grid Node at Birmingham is now live. The node is housed in room S222a, our newly re-furbished conferencing room, based in the Metallurgy and Materials building on Birmingham's campus.

Directions: The Metallurgy and Materials building is building number 50 on the main Edgbaston campus map. The conferencing room is on the second floor and is signed from the stairs.

AGN Room Bookings

Kindly note that room s222a is primarily to be booked out for use of the AGN facilities.  Current policy is that AGN meetings will have priority over all other room bookings up until 2 days before a provisional booking.  We recommend that room booking enquiries that do not involve the use of the AGN and are not flexible to this policy, be directed to the Central Timetabling and Roombookings Office.

To make a booking, please check first the room availability on the MeSc Access-Grid S222A booking status page then send an email to: s222abooking_at_bham.ac.uk (replace _at_ with @) detailing the date, time, duration and purpose of the requested booking. You will receive an email confirmation of the booking once made.

A basic instruction manual / survival guide for AGN meetings at Birmingham is available here in either PDF or Word format:

Should it be needed, the telephone number for the AGN Room is extension 48456.

(Please note that a code is needed to make international calls from the telephone in the AGN Room. If you will need to make an international call during a meeting, please let us know when making your booking).
